Sorry I haven't been on for ages i've been working to try and clear vets bill and having some issues here in the real world Today I weaned Sky and Diesel, loaded Sky into trailer and took her off to a nearby yard to live out with the other mare that is being weaned too, it took three attempts to load which is fab as she hasnt travelled on a trailer since her accident we've always used a box since. She travelled like a star and went out with the others as happy as you like, within 4 hours shes got a boyfriend, kept her best mate and adopted an oap Diesel stayed in his stable while Mummy left and went out with other foal and a mare who is auntie, no calling no stress no running about, came in tonight said hello to everyone and tucked into his dinner. Neither called, neither stressed both are eating well and happy The mare and foal that hadn't had as much gradual seperation both called, both sweated up and ran around, however both seem happy now so all is well Thank heavens Im so proud of them, particularly Sky as I was so worried about her, she never lets me down!!

How are they this morning Gem? I have to say, I prefer the gradual weaning process now (having done both over the years) for just the outcome you have experienced.

YAY, well done to you! TBH i think we are more worried and stressed about the whole situation more than they are. Im really pleased things went well for you, and both Sky and diesel can move onto the next stages in life!

That's fantastic news Gem -
I've started separating Sunny and Sparks during the day now and they're not bothered in the slightest so when we wean fully in a few weeks hopefully things will go just as smoothly.
