RIP Dessie he was a lovely boy. i met him last year at Newmarket stud. he was lovely.

RIP Dessie, I saw him a few times at Saxilby rescue centre Event days and what a stunner he was.. He'll be the brightest star in the sky tonight thats for sure.. a sad sad loss of a beautiful horse.

I will never forget watching him win the gold cup, the agony when it looked like he wasn't going to make it and then he did at the last minute - I had bunked off school to watch the race round my friends house and her mum came home unexpectedly whilst i was dancing round her living room!
I will also never forget the roar from the stands at Sandown when I went there to watch him win the Tingle Creek - a fantastic experience I will never forget.
Thanks for all the memories Dessie - the world needs heros like you!

So sad - was never interested in racing but for some reason this boy captured my imagination. RIP Dessie, such a special horse.
