a fortnight ago we had to have our oldest cat Nelson put down with cancer, it was hard, but we expected it. Last night our youngest, lovely little six month old chocoalte was hit by a car, and despite a fair bit of vet care she didn't make it through the night my 11 yo son was distraught this morning - think i should have kept him at home really , better go and dig another grave - RIP little sweet chocolate

Hi Rosie,
Something similar happened to me but differently. I had Suzie since she was a baby, I let her have kittens and kept two of them Troy & Pepper. Had em for four happy years. I was very close to em, I wouldn't really be in to staying out late cos they'd fret if I didn't spend enough time with em, they slept on my bed, loved cuddles, playing, were very very sweet sensitive cats. Suzie went missing, on the second day I put up posters where I live and one of the neighbours said she saw a woman picking up my cat and driving off with her. Then heard on the news that pets in the area were being stolen, a couple of weeks Troy went, Pepper followed.
It's horrible, be gentle with yourself x
