Its been nearly a year now since i lost my darling jester to maninitis! We batt;ed with it for so long, but aftr over a year of hard work and lots of care, it was time to let jester go.
Iv felt fine recently, of corse i think of him all the time, first thing in the mornig and last thing at night, but recently we have bought 2 more horses, and cant help but feel guilty for having fun. Im enjoying myself so much now, and i feel guilty that i am just getting o with things on another neddy.
i cant beliebe i coped for neally a year now, how on earth have i coped? it feels like only yesterday he was still here. After having barney for 8 months now, i am finding it more and more difficult to fing jesters face in my mind, its used to be there, but slowly it is fading away and barneys is now there, i have to look at a picture now to get the image back o him. i miss him so much, its all coming back to me now x x x

Jem - you'll never forget him my love, it will be 2 yrs this Oct that i lost my beautiful old man, not a day goes by that i don't think of him and look at his picture in pride of place in my living room. I miss him as much today as i did when it happened but it dosen't hurt quite so much now. You must never feel guilty of enjoying your new ponies and Jester is surely up there watching and laughing along with you, running and playing without pain with all our other sweet and precious horses.
It always feels better to have a good cry about it, i still do now and can't see that ever stopping soon. {{hugs}}

really sorry to hear about your loss. I too lost my old chap nearly three years ago next month and still really miss him but the best advice given to me was to remember all the good times with a smile and not get too bogged down with the bad stuff. x

awww... all you can do is look back and know that despite how much it hurts, you were given a wonderful opportunity to have him in your life and hopefully he will have taught you some lessons from which your other horses can benefit - and isn't that a wonderful way to remember him? All my best wishes, my heart goes out to you.
