I lost Bodie a couple of weeks ago to a very rare disease called Ideopathic Destructive Rhinitis, It ate away at the cavity of his nose with no known cause or cure. He was a beautiful blonde coloured whippet x labrador, the best behaved dog Id ever had and full of energy, which makes me feel even worse because he was very fit and healthy when I took him to be put to sleep on the advice of my vet. The disease had eaten away at the roof of his mouth so food would come out of his nose and his teeth no longer had a stable bed in his mouth and were turning black. He was only young and I miss him so much. Its not so bad when they get old but I feel robbed of my time with him. I worry that I could have done more or given him more time. Its difficult to think about, it took me days to put his food bowls away and his lead is still on the3rd step where it always was.

Lexy, I really do sympathise. It's so difficult isn't it? It sounds as if you are being very brave, but I know how you feel. To die young is always sad, but you were there for him, and he knew your love. Take care of yourself, and sleep in peace Bodie.
