Please send all your best healing thoughts to my dear friend Jane who bravely made the decision to have her beloved Silas pts yesterday evening. He was 18 years old and Jane had owned him for 13years and loved him very much. He had a sort of colic yesterday and struggled all day until he was taken to hospital in the evening. He had some sort of growth on his upper gut which then destroyed part of the gut itself. Its just amazing that until yesterday he was his usual feisty, little gelding, full of character and life.An operation couldn't guarantee success and would then be followed by months of box rest which lovely Silas would have hated,so Jane made the hardest, but best decision for him.She is now completely devasted and lost but Silas is running free with the old Shire Admiral who died a year ago tomorrow. Go in peace Silas,we all loved you so much.
