I've been reading the entries in the 'Rainbow Bridge' and feeling very sad for everyone in their loss. I can only say that although they leave a huge gap in our lives we will always have wonderful memories and the consolation that we loved them and did the best we could for them.
I've lost many friends myself - Smokey my first pony, Flikka who died a few years ago at the grand old age of 35, and was my first 'proper' horse, Gracie, her daughter who was killed when she got stuck in a hedge at 5 months old, Star, her other daughter who I had to put to sleep because of arthritis, Mr Fifty, her son who died suddenly at twelve years old, and my dogs, Bob, Bonnie, Hans and Blaze. I only lost Blaze last year and still miss her very much, as I miss all my animals who have gone 'over the Rainbow Bridge'. What a lovely name for the thread, by the way. The bridge must lead to 'Trapalanda' the cowboys heaven where horses and dogs go to be young and happy for ever.
I've got very choked up reading these entries, and the beautiful poems. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone. but I'm sure if there is a Heaven, our four legged friends will all be waiting for us on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge. xxx
