We sadly had to say goodbye to the 2nd grey horse in our yard in as many months.
Pathe had an degenerative lung disease that was diagnosed only a few months ago and the painful decision was made to have him PTS two days ago, as his windpipe had started to collapse.
Pathe was the much loved pony of 11 year old Kate but she realised that she had to let him to to the Rainbow Bridge and she said goodbye to him at the yard.
Goodbye Pathe, hope you are getting up to mischief with Woody, sleep tight sweetheart.

Thanks guys, that's really kind of you. The best thing is that Pathe is not in any pain or distress anymore, he wasn't allowed to degenerate to a bad state so his quality of life was kept as high as possible.
Poor Kate ended up in hospital two days ago due to a chest infection turning into pneumonia and her lung part collapsing, so I'm going to see her tonight with a Get Well card and some chocs. She's still very low about Pathe going.

Hi Roz, do please give hugs to that wee lass and tell her how sorry I am. Having a beloved pony put down is a big thing for someone of her age without pneumonia as well.

Thank you for your really kind comments, I haven't managed to see Kate yet but I did print off the Rainbow Bridge poem for her and I really hope that will help her. She's finally come home from hospital and bless her cannot bring herself to go near Pathe's old empty stable.
