Woody's owners made the very hard decision yesterday afternoon to send Woody to the Rainbow Bridge. His melanomas had robbed him finally of his quality of life and at the grand old age of 30 (not bad for an ex racer) he had had enough. He was PTS yesterday afternoon by the vet at our DIY yard. He has left behind his faithful companion Ted who has failing eye sight and who although is in good health, used to use Woody as his 'eyes'. Bye bye Woody, we all miss you.

Thank you guys for your kind posts. I've been keeping an eye on Ted who has the next door stable to our 30 year old Arab mare, he does look rather forlorn but is eating well and managing out in the field with his other field mates, so we hope he was adjust to life without his partner in crime, Woody.
