We learned tonight that a grand old lady was finally pain free. We as a family had the pleasure of sharing her care for a few years as she helped us get started on the rocky business of horse ownership.
As a companion horse we never saw her in her actual prime but looked at the photographs proudly displayed at her owner's house showing her in action, ridden by her Majesty the Queen Mother's jockey.
It is a blessed release for both Abbey and her owner Judith, precious memories which will be treasured forever.
R.I.P. Abbey.
