We had old Ricky put to sleep last night. He must have been at least 11 - a smashing cockeral and some might say chickens pah!!! not worthy of a mention on here but he was very sweet and special, dumped on us and left in a plastic bag we foudn him one cold autumn morning all those years ago.. he was very pretty and very easy so he stayed, and literally ruled the roost for the remainder of his years. His sons have goen all over the herefordshire area and Wales too, his daughters are great layers and excellant mums. anyway he's got slower and less able and sadly broke his leg which has hastened his end. Ricky was put to sleep kindly and gently by George Cooper our vet and is now in chuck heaven. RIP mate...it's a quiet yard without you.

As a Mum to two fab chicken girlies I say Ricky deserves his place just as much as anyone here. They are such characters arent they EMW? I'm sure he'll be ruling the roost at Rainbow Bridge too Love to you
