Julie and I had hysterics today. I spent a little longer than I probably should have done today getting my stables done ( well, you chat as you go, don't you ? ) Luke was getting more and more impatient from the gate watching me back and forth getting hay and water etc. After a little while, I noticed that he has stamping his front feet in temper and splashing mud everywhere. It took me a further 10 minutes to finish up where upon Julie and I grabbed a headcollar each ( One for Sunny and one for Luke ) As we approached the gate, he decided to display his fury at being kept waiting - He stamped and pawed with one foot and then the other... trouble was, he was splashing mud so much that we couldn't get near him ! Well, the more he did it, the funnier it became so we ended up just laughing our heads off. Luke obviously could not understand why we were standing back from the gate and laughing, so he got more and more angry. Of course, me shouting " Well stop doing it and we will come in and get you " did not help at all. At risk of him getting himself in a real state, we bit the bullet and just went for it ...... result ..... a couple of female mud wrestlers ( well look a like's anyway )

My friend's New Forest pony Wendy digs her own "water hole" and lies down in it. Even in this weather! Bobby had a bit of a tanty on Friday night because - shock horror - some of his friends came in before him. He was having a right old splash around, got himself completely drenched, his fieldmates would have twisted their hooves on their heads as if to say "Loony" if they could have done. Bang went the nice groom I was going to give him, as anywhere not covered in a rug was soaking wet!!!
Happy New Year everyone
