Probably a really strange question but in the New Year i'm looking to put my Nissan Terrano II LWB on the market as horsey really doesn't like travelling in my friends trailers and is much happier in a lorry (as am i driving the lorry that rather than towing the trailer)!
So i was wondering after the luxury of this massive boot what sort of cars do people have for doing the horses with. My many concern is the shavings bales i only use one a week but i like to get a couple at a time just incase.
Any recommendations for cars with reasoanble sized boots?
Thanks

Well, i don't know about cars with massive boots, but I had two bales of straw and a bale of HiFi in my little Rover 25 yesterday, with the back seats down. When the back seats are up I can fit a bale of HiFi or Readigrass in the boot with ease.

Don't get a Corsa if you want a large boot. Nice little run-arounds (got one for sale if anyone's interested!) but hopelessly small boots!

Thanks guys i was thinking along the lines of perhaps an Astra, 306 or Golf but not sure.
I did briefly have a Polo before getting the 4x4 and found it was much the same as your Corsa Gemma very small boot!

I've got a Skoda Fabia hatchback, and can get 2 bales in with seats down. The estate version is huge, so would get loads in! Also, they have VW engines but are much cheaper - if you can stand getting slagged off for a bit, they are great!

Renault Clio, can get 4 bales of easi-bed on the back seat, two tack boxes, boots and bridles etc in the boot, looks are very deceiving as I didn't think I'd be able to fit much in but the boot is quite roomy, I only use the back seat for the bales as the boot is always full up with other stuff!

We used to have an astra estate car and the boot was very big, especially with the seats folded down, escort estates have plenty of room too. My brother has a new clio and its tiny! no room on the back seats or in the boot at all!

Mazda MX5 ..... it was fun trying to get that off the drive this morning to get to the stables that's for sure! Still we managed it (Heavy snow in the early hours here but it's nearly gone now due to the rain )

I have an old volvo the saloon type the boot is very big, also we have a bmw estate with a vaste boot. I have had a lot in an astra estate and a 325 bmw estate too with the seats down. measure the size of a couple of bales of shavings hay etc, and the go to some of the dealers and see if it will fit also check out the ease of loading etc.

I've got a Suzuki Jimny, and despite the slatings a lot of people give them I love it. Can easily get couple of bales in the back with the seats down. It's cheaper to buy than a lot of normal cars, very economical and you have the advantage of 4 wheel drive, which I'm sure doesn't compare to the big 4x4 vehicles but definitely has its advantages in this weather!! Had an astra before this (RIP Lola) which was also great for boot space and had a bit more "oomph" than the Jimny.
