Hi I've had my girl for nearly 2 months now and she's just coming up to 7 months old. I try and do something with her every day although it's very basic and not for very long. At a minimum I lead her up from the field, brush her, feed her and turn her back out. On a weekend I do the same but also take her in the school for 10 minutes and do some basic halter work like walking nicely and backing up. She's very good at doing all of this but Ive just started to try some new things like introducing her to objects and walking on tarpaulins. She's really struggling with the new stuff. Am I doing to much, should I leave it at basic halter work for now or am I right to start trying new things?

There's no harm in trying new things but if she's struggling then yes, you are asking too much of her. Continue with the leading, grooming etc. Train her for the farrier, make sure she leads correctly, stops when you stop, backs up when you do, turns when you do.
She is so young and has a very short attention span, introduce new things incrementally and one at a time
