I just relised my L shape is back to front.dohhhhhhhh
and re watching videos because I do to see where I could have been kinder and more understanding. I could have told her more she was doing what I was asking for,and given her more time on tarp to work it out herself.
charm had a thing about water before she came to me, but to get to the field she has to go through a massive puddle of water on the path way, that we have a problem with because of a ditch over flowing when its bad rain,so she has sorted out that problem she had all by herself. she goes through it with no problems at all,and she has done that all by herself.

That's why it's so nice to video things so that you can watch back at your leisure and see where you can adjust to help improve things even more, not always easy to see when you're standing so close. I love it when I have my Dido sessions and Laura videos them, it's amazing how much more I can then absorb (looking at what I'm doing rather than being part of it) and go back and practice with Harry. Doesn't really matter if L shape back to front it just makes it a different challenge. I set up zig zags, "S" shapes as well. Well done!!

Thank you hislordshipsmum, the L shape, even the back to front L shape isn't as easy as it looks, god knows how hard the s shape is,I had enough problem with the one above. charm is so pantiencet with me,please excuse spelling. my car driving is much the same. a friend of mine use to clear her drive when she knew I was coming. it is good to take videos because your right when your doing things you mind is so on that and you don't see things from their point of view in what your doing. you know sunshine makes me double take sometimes. some things she does really surprises me,I think "how does she know that I haven't done that with her," like she goes out of her way to touch things, like she is touch targeting and I think how does she know that? but again suttle things you do with them they are reading and taking everything. sometimes you don;t relise your teaching something. it takes the most suttle things. Am I making sense in what I am trying to write#?? I am not very good putting things into words, making sense, :)they are so amazing, and will never stop amazing me. I have high regards for Dido, she helped me on the IH courses with my confidence "16" years ago eeeeeeeekkkkkkk showing my age now. I would love to see more of your videos hislordshipsmum, hows harry now?

Yep, you make sense. The "S" shape is hard but I broke it down in stages to begin with before attempting it all in one go. Even harder in reverse!! But certainly got Harry thinking where his feet were. I've done a lot of long lining going through different shapes and that actually makes it easier as I am standing back and can see what he is doing, and makes me aware of where I'm standing and how my position affects how he's reacting. I'll have to get Laura (my video expert) to video us out on a hack so you can see how good he is now with the traffic and dealing with scarys. He seems a lot better, especially mentally, got the chiropractor next week so hopefully he'll be back to how he was very soon. I've been keeping Dido up to date with what's been happening with him lately (as Laura keeps her pony with Dido, I've been able to see her more this year and have a chat) and we're hoping to book a session in soon so Harry and I can have our yearly Dido positive boost. When we took him out on Sunday Laura was riding him down the road and above us was a field with horses in who decided to come charging over along the fence line neighing!! We thought Harry would have freaked out but no he was so good and just carried on As you say they always amaze us. Going down in a minute to give him a bath as it's soooo hot and have a nice relaxing happy spoiling Harry day.

Just given H a thorough bath (and me!), he was very good, although noticed he's lost his near fore shoe Left message for farrier so hopefully will be able to fit him in sometime this week to put one back on. After finished bathing him he went to the dustiest place and rolled!! He was filthy - why did I bother - he he!! I've got a fly sheet for Harry but I don't put it on too often as he gets so sweaty - do you have the same problem with yours?

oh no hislordshipsmum,at lest you got him coming out to put it back on. tee hee with the bath,I bet he enjoyed it though. well yes and no to your question. I think charm was getting to hot in her zebra one as its a diffrenet make to ellas, and was more thick at the top,so I found her very old one which is waffer thin,it was wripped at the neck,so cut it off.and I think I made a good job of it,I was pleased with myself.will have to watch her neck area that she doesn't start rubbing and breaking her skin little lynns are fine.their really fine, happy as larrys they are also their shelter with fan is crisp cool, its lovely in there and they can go in and out themselfs. they all suffer from sweetich where they will rub themselfs roar to the skin, even to having no fur. been there done that not going there again. its been a long hard road of learning how to manage sweetich and blinking midgies, and touch wood I can say I have cracked it now even living in midgie city.

Thanks Veronica, he is spending much more time in his shed at the moment (he can come and go as he pleases) and it doesn't get the flies in there, so hence I was able to leave his sheet off, and touch wood he's been OK. The midges have been horrendous this year haven't they Luckily H doesn't get sweetich so I don't have that problem. Unfortunately we have to go through the long hard road to get the answers to problems - all down to experience. If we knew when we first got the horses what we know now we would have been a lot better off!!

Zulu, ollie and April never suffreed from sweetich, they had other problem like cushings and so on but not that. I used to watch a nreighbour struggle with sweetich with her pony and I used to think how lucky I was not to have that problem when I went to view having a little lin sunshine that was always in my mind that I never wanted that problem because of where we live. sunshine on viewing her did have a skin problem, but was told it was due to having a bout of lice and the marks left by that. not being a very wise person exspected that as that. but it was sweetich and a year later with you name it it was treid by vets even steriods got it under control. April died so sunshine needed a companion,I wasn't so bothered about the condition then as already had sunshine,so got ella even if it turned out she suffers and she does but not as bad as sunshine. then Zulu died and ollie needed a companion and charms companion died"my son's girlfriends horse-almost daughter inlaw" so it seemed sensible to put them together. I knew she suffered badly but I thought what the hell by then I had by then got enough experince to know how to deal with it. so this was my very rude awakening to sweetich. teehee :)so my big electric bills and expersive rugs have seen the better to midges oh and sunshine has a dust allergy too,so has to have steamed hay,and because they are tiny can only have soft hay and nothing to rich,so have to steam it,can't buy horsehage.don't you just love them :)they are worth it though :)love them to bits, wouldn't want to be without them
