Need some friendly advice please I have recently been diagnosed with a heart condition and have started warfarin I have been told I will have to be on it for life ... I know I have to now be very careful about injuries and falls and riding a baby horse isn't probably ideal ! But I can't see me selling him or giving up do you know friends who ride whilst on warfarin what precautions can I take thank you x

Our neighbour's daughter has had heart ops and has been on warfarin, she wore a body protector and carried on as normal I believe. ?

So sorry to hear that! I'm epileptic though fortunately only have occasional seizures and I'm on medication, so should be fine. In my case it's the confidence knock I get that's my problem but to help I always wear body protector plus air jacket and safety stirrups. Just use everything available so that any injury can be minimized. It'll probably make you feel more relaxed too. Good luck

I'm a nurse, if you take all the usual protection precautions it shouldn't be a problem however its worthy to wear a medic alert or carry something that says you take warfarin. For the emergency services it can really help us if you are unconscious or your not able to talk to us for whatever reason.
You should be able to lead a perfectly normal life in everyway. Good luck!!
