Please be honest, am I being a bit over sensitive? I've just sold, for what I think is a bargain price 5 treat balls, 4 for £1.20 each, 1 for £2.70, all bought by the same person which I was a little disappointed about as I expect they'll be sold on but my moan is that though it doesn't mention anywhere cash on collection the buyer has assumed without even asking that I will be ok with it. Yes I know it's a tiny thing but anything I sell goes into paypal and I use that to pay for the minerals I buy from Pro Earth so when I need to get some I'm not parting with any cash, I feel he should have asked, am I being a grumpy old biddy about it?

I would expect to be asked but cash on collection saves you getting charged paypal fees and you don't have to box up and post so it does benefit you.
If you pay the cash into the bank, you can then transfer it to paypal.

As clipclop says it saves you paypal costs, most people assume cash on collection will be acceptable for this reason - I certainly would - after all money is money.

Haha, a simple yes would have done It wouldn't have been so bad but to pay anything in the bank costs more than the paypal charges in parking and takes 40 minutes plus deisel for the priveledge.

Ask them to pay by paypal (minus postage fees) and then collect if the bank is a distance away? Just make sure they sign something to say they have received them.

Mmmmm...it seems it's a pain in the backside for you then for them to be 'assumming then can pay with cash'?!! I can understand your frustration ladynibs as like you've said,...it's going to cost you to drive to the bank/parking up costs etc,. to deal with this sale..
I'd probably make sure you stipulate yourself as a 'paypal only' seller in the future...that would nip things like this in the bud i guess!

I think for that amount of money, if he wants to pay cash, I would insist that cash means real cash, and just pocket it. No worries about bank etc.

Yep, lesson learned, I think if they'd gone for a reasonable price or his emails friendlier or a whole host of other things it probably wouldn't have bothered me at all. I think it was a very grumpy day

am I being a grumpy old biddy about it? Ummm, yes Most people would prefer to have the cash and not pay the Paypal fees. But next time stipulate Paypal only on your listing.

Oh lovely! Report him and re-sell the items. Perhaps you will get more money next time! Btw, I have sold a lot on e-bay and find it helps a lot to give a really good description with a reason for sale if possible. It seems to encourage people to bid

that's the downside - you do get them! I've been lucky and only had one bad experience selling. I sold an unused handheld whisk, buyer claimed it didnt arrive, then when I gave the tracking number, said it arrived bent and asked for money back. I said fine, I will refund postage as well, send it back - radio silence. Definitely a dealer as the postal address was a trading estate.
