This may be barking up the wrong tree, but I have had to give weekly doses of Ivermectin to Mario because of a persisitent summer sore on his sheath. During this time, his chronic sweet-itch has lessened considerably - he has had no s i rug for a month whereas up till now 10 mins was too much. So I think it may have been a case of neck threadworms all along (as Jen mentioned above), which has been killed off by the Ivermectin. I did ask the vet though, and she seemed doubtful but smiled kindly at me!
Anyway, it may be an idea to specifically use Ivermectin in your worming plan and see if it makes a difference.

ha worked out it was Charm nibbling at Caspers tail! dont think he likes sudocream all over his lips so seems to have stopped now ! That'll learn 'im.

so has my lad, look up neck thread worm on general! food for thought, Yes, I second this! Mario had constant neck itching/scratching, and I have to give equest quite often. Do look up neck threadworms - it's interesting!
