may has decided she can't eat anything but alfalfa pellets... Problem is.. Its differicult to hide the above drugs in pellets! So thinking it will have to all go down her throat! However.. Can you effectively just leave cut up metformin & pergolide in water to disolve over night/during day without it causing a problem to the effectiveness of the drug?? i do actually do that already with the metformin and always wondered if it was a problem or not??

I used to crush the tablet between 2 supplement scoops and then add water. I had to syringe Briar's or he just wouldn't eat it

I dissolve prascend, it takes no more than a couple of minutes and no need to crush - don't know about metformin, could you use a pestle and mortar to crush? Can't see how it would change the effectiveness as it will dissolve in the stomach.

Well thats my main concern as to weather it would change the effectiveness... yes must admit figured out pergolide disolves quickly when i've put it in the fast fibre... i also need too add the synequin too.. lol she's just going to have everything medication/supplement wise all in a syringe and down her throat! lol

Oh i tried crushing metformin in a proper pill crusher as well.. even split into 4 first.. still not easy! lol The fact the metformin doesn't disolve quickly i suppose explains a lot... lol

metformin dissolves in water but takes around 2 hours. Crushing it is nigh on impossible. I fed metformin 3 times a day and used to put one lot on to dissolve at the same time as I syringed the dissolved tablets. That way you always have the next lot ready.

Hiya, Jade has 4 Metformin, morning and evening. We put 4 each into 2 jamjars half full of water, one for the following morning breakfast and one for following day tea as they take ages to dissolve. We then use the liquid to damp her feed (a mugful of safe and sound with her other additives). If we forget for any reason I use a pair of hoof pincers to chop them in to tiny chunks which she will also eat mixed with the feed but it is a dangerous operation for me and I keep nipping my fingers . Almost impossible to crush! No experience with other tablets yet as these seem to work well for her. Rrx
