Had to go and feed my lot not quite an hour early this morning because I have an appointment. Drove into the yard as normal, followed the normal routine of chickens, lights, fencer etc....................and the horses stayed put at the far end of the field! Just goes to show that triggers can vary enormously - at the normal (right) time as soon as I arrive they put themselves at their relevant breakfast tables with spoon and fork in hand, ready for the waitress service

Lol Jill, I always feel that they put up with me cos they know I hold the key to the feed room ;D
The weather is awful here today, really windy and raining. I had left the boys out overnight but Antares was waiting at the gate this morning, he almost put his own headcollar on and boy did he stride out on the way to the yard! They are in now tucked up with a nice bed and some hay, Antares is most pleased! They will be in until the storm has passed.

I find that too, if I'm earlier than normal of a morning they're all still asleep and look at me as if to say.. Um come back when it's time please...! Then they have a big stretch and a yawn and wander over.. Rather than at the usual time which might only be 10-15 mins later being ready and waiting at the gate!
