They still make it!! My neighbour who is 80 and ex farm worker wanted some for his aches and pains - his family managed to find some on t'internet, human and animal versions. Took me back several decades when I sniffed it - my Dad had a chemists shop and used to stock it in the dark ages

I remember the adverts for that stuff - it seemed to have miraculous properties and cure any sort of lameness...... Does anyone remember Aconite Powders? An Irish horse dealer called Tim Horgan used to bring them over in the seventies - they were on the poisons list, being arsenic based, and looked very dodgy, but were highly effective for broken-winded (COPD ) horses!

Used to contain turpentine oil and acetic acid. No doubt still does. Does it still come in glass bottles with Elliman's Embrocation moulded on the side?

we used to hand that out to trail riding clients for their saddle sores normally at the end of day 2!! or day 3- 7 wouldn't have happened!
