Ah... that's a different question But yes, if you put your mind to it. Have your lesson and see how you feel afterwards.

I actually found it easier to pick up western even from one lesson! To me it just made more sense the way of doing things!

Western makes a lot of sense and if you get the right trainer it is so much fun for the horse and rider.

I have ridden Blaze both Western and English, she is a chunky cob with lots of feather. Next year we are going to do some Western Trail at a nearby stud. I have a pic of her in a Western saddle, I'll see if i can get it up here......

we're going over to the other side lol- I too find wetsren so logical and in the saddle you just feel so safe. Many western riders did classical before and became disillusioned with the competition dressage world - its all about weight aids and balance. I've met some great people and they seem to have so much more fun than the stern faces you see at many usualy shows. I also like the fact that in clinics its always a group of horses in together with everyone cheering each other on - real confidence boosters.

Exactly holi ;D I really enjoyed those clips Jj, thanks. I did see some good stuff of mules doing mountain trail (indoors!) and thought of you but didn't know how to do the technical stuff.

Our riding club is based at Sovereign Quarter Horses, David and Sarah are truly fantastic people, enthusastic and the shows are fantastic fun, and there is every shape and size there of horse you can imagine on the non specific breed shows, we have all had a go at western and challenging their liveries to take us on at dressage with them riding western . I was watching one of their guys the other day deal with a very difficult heavy heavy cob that had been bucking everyone off, that has taken to western like a duck to water.
