Oh sorry you having this trouble HP! Interested by your comments about using Danilon for suspected abscess. My farrier told me not to use Danilon when I suspected one - he said as it is anti-inflammatory it would just suppress the swelling and delay things.
It seemed a bit odd to me and I did get him to agree I could give one if she was really uncomfortable. It wasnt an abscess in the end.
You are obviously very experienced so am wondering if I should ignore this bit of advice from my farrier in future!
& hope pony gets better v soon.

I just dont think it fair to leave a wimpy pony in pain to be honest she has probably only just started to get a problem but she is a real wimp and was on 3 legs. I would say that there is a time and place for any pain killer she is out 24/7 so has to move around to keep warm so this cold weather was another reason to keep her comfortable. I wouldnt use a lot of pain killer if I wanted a pony to keep still so would use it only to aid the inflammation in a lami pony not to kill pain and of course would use a bit of sedalin to keep a lammi pony quiet ans still and in a stable on a very deep bed
