My Jingo boy, my beautiful palomino cob. Twenty years ago today, I had to let you go, had to let them give you your angel's wings.
No horse ever brought more joy in his living, or more grief in his passing. Oh lad, I remember one bright spring morning, riding you down the valley, the wind in your silver mane, and my heart bursting with the joy of you and the thought of the weeks and months and years ahead with you in my life. And then, days later, you were gone.
Jingo, one day there will be another bright morning, another beautiful sunlit valley, and you will be there - but this time I shall never ever have to let you go.
I love you still, my darling boy. Goodnight.

Laura, thank you, yes, he was so special and a huge part of my life. He got acute Grass Sickness and was gone within twenty four hours. GS is an evil thing, seems to pick out the brightest and most loved - so many sad stories like mine....

Oh Liz,
Crying at work!
So beautifully written, it came straight from your heart where he lives on.
We love them so much and yet for all their size they are so fragile, lost in an instant, but never forgotten.

I loved him too much, I know that now. I'd rescued him from a skid row sale, and he'd turned out so beautiful, and was such a lovely chap. He was my only horse at that time, and I've never made that mistake again; I have way too much love for just one horse. The most devastating animal loss I've ever suffered.
