Went out for a hack today for the first time in a week as his saddle was at the saddlers, so he was a little full of himself ;D I love it when he's raring to go, he makes me laugh out loud when he does his "Kevin the Teenager" head toss when I won't let him go and he thinks it's all so unfair! We went trotting along one of the tracks where there were lots of small puddles and he did his usual array of ducks, twists and huge steps to avoid getting his toes damp, until we got to one where he'd clearly been intending to extend over it until he realised it was the length of his body so he jumped it then cantered away with his tail in the air, all pleased with himself! I have to say it was a very neat little jump considering it's his first with a rider! ;D XC here we come!!!

What a way to end the year, after the time you've had. Just lovely!

Brilliant! Brio does this too, being a Spanish lady she doesn't want her feet in mud or puddles

Ha ha nich, must be a spanish trait as my girls do this too! - strange because the dirty muddy puddles in the field seem to attract them like flies!
So glad to hear that Talin is so full of himself, and that you are enjoying getting out and about with him - I know it's been a long time coming. Here's hoping it continues into 2012!

I can't believe what a sensible pony I have ;D We did some schooling today (am still in shock that we are able to do productive schooling instead of just going round in circles with me hoping not to die!!) and he started off being grumpy and doing a head toss every time I asked him to turn away from the gate, but after a few minutes he started concentrating and did really well. We can do a series of 5 bending buckets steering only from my seat ;D He's also got the idea of stopping from my seat, and thanks to me EE lesson a couple of weeks ago I felt much better balanced in trot, almost good enough to start lateral work in trot! It's funny how he starts the session all disinterested but as I get him thinking he gets into it and then really concentrates well

Brilliant news, I'm so pleased for you, and Talin. Hopefully all his problems are history thanks to your persistance and dedication.
