Hi everyone,
For any racing enthusiasts (or even just those of you interested in an alternative approach to racing can work), Simon Earle Racing is having an Open Day on their farm in Sutton Veny on Saturday, March 10th.
Simon has attracted attention for not only racing his horses barefoot, but doing so successfully. However, the yard employs a host of other interesting ideas and methods to keep their horses healthy and happy which are just as praise-worthy.
If you would like to find out more, go along at 9.30am to watch the horses work, meet the team (equine and human) and have a tour of all the facilities including the Seawalker, Softwalker, Pebble Walker, new schooling fields, extended gallops, etc.
For anyone who is interested, there will also be a private luncheon straight after the Open Morning where Simon, Eamonn and Jack Houghton (until recently Horse Racing Manager at Betfair) will give their views on the Cheltenham Festival main races. There will also be review of all horses in training at the farm that will include an update on all of the exciting new prospects that have recently joined them.
The cost is £10 per person to attend the open morning which will go to HorsesFirst, the not for profit racing club. The open morning is free for HorsesFirst club members and if you are not yet a member and you sign up before 10th March there will be no extra charge for attending (for more information visit http://www.horsesfirstclub.com).
The luncheon will be held at a local hotel and the cost for the buffet meal will be £18 (wine and spirits extra). The buffet menu will provide a variety of dishes and will have options suitable for vegetarians and those on a wheat free diet.
If you are interested in coming along or would like more details please contact Kelly Baker: kelly@simonearleracing.com or call the office on 01985 840820.
I was fortunate enough to pay them a visit late last year and can assure you that it is well worth the trip to meet this dedicated and inspirational team.
If you can't make it, but are still interested in finding out more about them, do have a look at their website:- www.simonearleracing.com.
