Vicky's owner is finding it hard to cope doing her she won't sell her unless to me, but i cannot do her full time, i have her on part loan, she is 19 with arthritis and really only happy hacking and odd schooling do you think someone would take a horse on for that part loan, I love her to bits and if I could I would take her on, but money is very tight so can't.

If you or owner advertaise for someone who's done it all and doesn't want to do it again, like a retired person or someone who isn't interested in showing/schooling and only wants to hack then yes someone will take on a couple days for that, but only if you advertise for that.
when we did it for seamus we asked for someone like.. shoogly rider wanted for shoogly horse...I have it somewhere...... will look it out lol

this is my ad..
Two middle aged crumblies with arthritis, have semi retired middle aged crumbly horse. Seeking middle aged not-so-crumbly sharer to take horse gentle ploddy hacks round estate.
he's 15.2hh, nice natured black cob. he has advanced ringbone, and can be pottery at times. Must be sensitive enough to know when he's "not right" and take action according to his needs. A retired person who just wants relaxing plods round nice countryside is what we are looking for, for him.
cannot be pushed in any direction, no jumping or fast work. He enjoys a canter when the ground is right, but mostly he just walks and trots happily.
Please do not answer this ad, if you want to do more with horses. He cant do it.
If you are interested please contact......
we did find someone with that ;D

Hi Eden
I'm sure you will find someone to share. There are lots of people who cant afford their own horse or perhaps don't want the commitment. Some people are just happy hackers and not interested in showing etc. Julz ad was great - says it all.
I hope you find an ideal sharer soon. Good Luck

Quite a few people round here hack what you d consider 'semi retired' horses on a share basis. Definately worth advertising, as julz says be honest. The only thng I'd say is don't expect much interest until light nights / better weather. X

I agree that you'll find someone - that's exactly the sort of set-up that would suit me if I didn't have my own ploddy hacker! Advertise all over the place, particularly in your local feed stores and pet shops, and someone will turn up who is just right for you both. Good luck!

That advert is great Julz! That would have attracted me when I was sharing as I just wanted to get out hacking and have some horsey time and it makes you sound very reasonable and down to earth

feel free to use it but obviously change the wording to suit you and your horse. We had a fantastic person who did actually have arthritis herself, but it did also put off them who would have wanted more out of horse sharing-ship
My sister came up with the "middle aged crumblies" bits lol

"Elderly grey gent - Enjoys hacking and gentle schooling. Seeks like minded light rider to enjoy a few outings a week" that was he start of my advert when i needed help exercising my 24 year old he was actually capable of alot more (i was still jumoing ect with him) but i wanted someone to respect his age. I think the key thing is finding someone that you know/trust will respect her age and what sh is capable of.
