Hi, I'm new here. Just found out about this reading de Perfect Confidence book.
I'm at this moment a non-confident riding, because of a fall from my horse 2 years ago. I ride him, but still keep feeling tensed and afraid to fall again... And going for walk just doesn't work, 'cause he doesn't want to leave the stable...
I bought the book in my holiday to London (I'm from Belgium) and I'm so delighted that I already suggested it to some friends, although I didn't finish it yet myself.
I can't ride at this time (just got rid of the screws in my foot from my fall two years ago this friday), so it's a great time to work through the book.
But I'dd love to share some experience out here, so I thought writing here would be a good idea as well, as learning from others is always a great way to learn!

Hello and welcome Sorry to hear you've had a rough time of it, but rest assured it will get better. Once your foot is healed, you can move on. Many of us have confidence problems; I was too scared to get on a horse just over two years ago, but now I gallop around the countryside and do a little bit of jumping. Looking forward to hearing more from you, and pics of your horse would be good too ;D

Hello Bijke, and well done for posting in a second language. I'm impressed already. It's a long journey back to confidence, but taking things slowly and finding the right help it's all there for you. We've seen dozens of people use this board and leave months in some cases years later ready for anything.

Great news about the screws and hope you get your physical strength back quickly.
Feeling worried about riding out after your accident is completely to be expected, so don't give yourself a hard time about it. If you have a look at the other threads on this group, you will find lots of ideas of how to get started.
I'm curious about your comment that you can't walk out because he doesn't want to leave the stable. Can you tell us more about that?
H

Welcome bijke Good to have you here, there are a few of us nervous ones here, I had a nasty fall nearly 4 years ago, just got myself a new horse 6 weeks ago and although I'm nervous, I know he's a good boy and I cant wait to ride him - even though I'm still of a nervous disposition. I have found the confidence forum has - once again - inspired me x
