After a very long 15 months of diagnosis, treatment and recouperation I have been told that my mare will never be able to do more than hacking out in walk. I am therefore looking for a long term loan horse to do lots of hacking, and a few local shows and fun rides. Must be sensible and safe to hack alone and would prefer no tendencies to buck, rear or bolt. Can cope with a few excitable bucks, but don't bounce so well at my age! Must not be freaked out by cattle, as they are grazed in fields next to our bridleways from April to October every year without fail. I don't have a strong preference for a mare or a gelding, but must be able to be turned out with my mare. Also live out all year round with a large double field shelter. If anyone knows of or hears of anything, please let me know. Thank you.

Hello I have a 17.2 gentle giant gelding for loan. 11 years. very easy to hack, and lovely to hack. he doesnt get freaked out. Would need rug in field in the winter. he just cribs but if you put one post in the field he will go to that! he had an op for it when young and now cant get air sucked in so only teeth on there. I would have 2 conditions for permanent loan and that is that he stays barefoot and gets Thunderbrook feed all year round. (works out £35 per month. The only trouble is that we are in Wiltshire.......His ad should be up on the site soon

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately Wiltshire is just too far away realistically to come and try and horse and then collect it, which is why I am looking for something closer to home. Good luck with finding a loan home for your boy - he sounds lovely.
