This is the best horse course I have ever ridden on !!
I learnt so much from Francois which will suit me now and also how to develop myself and my horse ( or any horse ) in the future.
I've got my fingers crossed that Francois will be coming to the UK again- all the riders and spectators got such a lot from the 2 days and everyone was asking for him to return :0))
Update : I've registered for the next course in September :0))

Me too! I loved it, and have already booked on for the next one. Hamish and I are both so much improved! And thanks to everyone for making us both welcome and looking after us.

I learned a lot from just watching! Can't wait to try it out. And Hamish won the vote as the cutest horse on the course, he's even cuter in real life than he is in pics! ;D

Even though I speak as the organiser - I agree with the comments about this wonderful, wonderful instructor. I have been privileged to work with many fine trainers over the years, but Francois Lemaire de Ruffieu is in a league of his own. The man is simply AWESOME! Every rider made massive improvements and Francois has such a gift of explaining exactly what needs to happen and -equally importantly - how it needs to happen. He has a wonderful gallic sense of humour too! Being nearly beseiged with the participants demanding a return visit, it was easy for me to agree to organising a second clinic in early September. The format will be a little different this time, with some semi-private and private lessons being included into the mix, plus the opportunity for one lucky owner to have their horse used in two groundwork sessions. I for one am so excited at watching a Master Classical horseman demonstrate the beginnings of high school groundwork. Oh, and yes, if that wasn't enough, Francois will ride in the next clinic in the private lessons..... As soon as I have dates, format and costs I'll post details up here. However, first dibs will go to the participants on this first clinic - otherwise I suspect that I might get lynched! Hamish is indeed extremely cute - and much to his surprise he's discovered that he has a fantastic ground covering trot, and can canter on both leads. He's also got the makings of a fine quadrille pony!
