hi everyone
can you recommend any shows that would be good for a first timer in wiltshire?
just want something really simple and small - don't know what to ask for as i've never entered a show before, but something good for a complete beginner.....
look forward to hearing from you x

I can't recommend specific shows, but if you look in local tack shops there are often schedules? Our best local shows are ones run by riding clubs or pony clubs - loads of fun, and no one is that serious. Stay away from anything that says it has qualifiers for X,Y Z at first - all the really serious show peeps come out for them!! What sort of horse do you have? You could even do the 'fun' classes like handsome horse to start with. I often end up in them with my fjordie!!

show in bromham (think its in august), local and pretty lo-key. you do get the odd serious mum "encouraging" there little kid, but to be honest I haven't seen any for a few years. Have taken mine down there and one year we just wandered round not actually taking part in anything and no-one cared or questioned us

great advice mellymoo - my mare is a beauty (of course i'd say that...) so yes, we could just do stuff like that! x
Licey - Bromham show sounds fab too, esp if we can just go and have a walk about
will search for a schedule
are you going to the demo on sun?

Not sure whether schedule will be about yet but it is based at abbottswood farm, usually details in countrywide when they get them printed. Yep am going on Sunday, are you?
