... and support Shy Lowen and HorseWorld. I have a leather stamping kit available for use in return for a donation to the IH charity of the year (Shy Lowen until 31 May 2011 and HorseWorld thereafter). The kit is available for up to 2 weeks at a time for £3.50 donated as per the payment methods in my "Charity Donations 2011/12" thread. The kit contains letters A-Z (excluding Y) and numbers 0-9 plus a small handle to attach the letters to. You'll need your own mallet! Please let me know when the kit arrives if there is anything missing. If there is sufficient interest I might ask you to forward the kit on to the next person. Please reply on here so others can see if there's a waiting list and PM me your address

Has the charity already changed over to Horseworld, I thought the change over was going to be at Kelly's Garden Party. Please let me know as our website still says it's us so I'll need to get it changed - oops sorry if I've got it wrong :-O

Yes please - forgive me for being thick, but should I mark the tack with my name, or post-code, or initials and date of birth, or hugs and kisses!!! Will pm you my name and address and paypal you the fee. Also is it OK to offer the use to others on the yard (there may be no takers, but there may be some), getting them to give me the same donation, which I would then forward to you?

yes that's fine penny I'm sure it goes without saying but please only lend it to people you know you'll get it back from! I marked mine with my post code, it's shorter than my full name and shared with less people than 'michelle' your DOB would work too

Of course - I actually was thinking that I'd be at the yard and do it for them, that way it can't go walk abouts AND I'd be able to get donation off them at the same time.
Thanks for advice re what to use, and can't wait to finally get everything marked!

Good idea penny Michelle, maybe you could bring it to the IH Garden Party, people could bring their tack and put donations in a bucket?

This is ever so easy to do, and works really well. A quick and easy way of marking your tack - thoroughly recommend borrowing it! Many thanks to Michelle.

PLEASE always put your postcode plus the number of your street or first 2 letters of house name. Saddles should be stamped under the flap on the left.
If the police sieze tack they believe to be stolen, it's easy for them to check a postcode out - will the thieves know the full address?! - & return it to the rightful owners.
Any other marks will be totally meaningless to the police, and as the main reason for stamping is to prevent theft, pretty pointless really.
Horsewatch has been training police forces for years as to where to look & what to look for on tack, particularly saddles. Try them with 'Havana leather GP' etc etc, but they definitely understand a postcode!!!
Brilliant initiative, and please do give me details of your set. I like the idea of a handle instead of stamping each digit separately!

I'll need it again in the not too distant future - about to get a Western saddle so will need to mark that too!
