Sadly, not on my boy though I've been riding a fellow livery's horse called Joe, this week, in the school and had a lesson on him on tuesday and hacked out with a friend today. It wasn't totally plain sailing - he's not done much lately and I suspect it could be a year or more since he's been round the village, so it was all very scary and exciting The scariest bit was 2 gardens, one on each side of the road, one had a rotary bird scarer and the other had sticks with plastic bags tied on them to keep birds away. Joe spun and started to canter back the way we had come, but he stopped within a few paces and we went back and got past them and after that he settled quite well and we had a lovely ride. I haven't totally given up hope of riding zack occasionly and feel a bit guilty about riding Joe, but I'm hoping he'll give me my confidence back a bit. I actually felt that he was spookier than Zack in some ways but did at least have brakes when he took off

Well done you! It sounds like you handled a very scarey situation brilliantly. Your confidence will now grow and grow - i used ot be terrified when my horse spooked - which he did alot. But with the help of a wonderful instructor and lots of encouragement i perservered and came ot realise that i could "ride out" his spooks and he improved so so much as well! He used ot turn and run a good 10 paces before i could get him back under control. Now its never no more than one step to the side if at all. My instructor taught me how to pull him back in and knowing i could do it made me more confident hence him mor e confident. Well done, you will be shocked at how much your confidence improves now!x
