Strange weather. Hard, very hard frost and minus temps in northants/leic border, very little snow as of yet, seems to be missing us this week and the other week. We had a thaw inbetween, which threatend floods, but solid again at the moment. Other side the valley is worse. As I said, strange weather.

Actually, thinking about the weather, does anyone have inside/technical info on it? How come it has done and still is doing a sort of circle around us (nothants/leic/rutland/lincs border).
I know we are lucky where we are at the moment, and my thoughts are with those whose equine routine has doubled if not trebled (?sp) in work and energy needed to just keep ticking over.

We've had loads this afternoon on the Herts Beds border. Spent the afternoon in a blizzard putting out hay for the horses and breaking ice on the troughs. Still snowing now and there's around 4 inches on the ground.

Again nothing in Leics! Yay! although I had Spring's shoes off last weekend because I feared I wouldn't be riding her much for ages

We've got snow here in North Wales. Not good as I was planning on viewing a horse today this is about the fourth time I've cancelled. Might as well leave it now till after Xmas.

Lots of snow here yesterday - about 5". Thankfully Flynns field companion is a 2 min walk away from the field so she's taken over morning and afternoon - I'll walk down in the middle of the day to see my horse!

Snow and cold in East Sussex - -8 by 5pm on friday so lots of accidents and sadly road deaths locally. Took us 2 hours to get home from work as roads were lethal. Yesterday - snow, ice -5, thunder and lightning oh and power cuts - I am now officially bored as we got 12" with the last lot at the beginning of the month!!

Had a lovely ride out in the snow today. Guess there has to be something good about it!

Actually, thinking about the weather, does anyone have inside/technical info on it? How come it has done and still is doing a sort of circle around us (nothants/leic/rutland/lincs border). I believe the jet stream is doing a wobble up to Iceland rather than just flowing south of UK so cold air is able to come down from the North and East rather than our usual warmer wetter Atlantic influence. -17 here for the past two nights. Still -10 now! My house hasn't frozen this year despite colder temps thank heavens. Road is passable but very dangerous so I'm going nowhere today. Mta. Yes anastasia I prefer this to wet and wind too.

Earlier this month we had 18"-2' then the thaw. Started again last week - it was -9 by 5pm on friday - loads of accidents and sadly a fatality in the next village. Today we have the start of a thaw but temps are dropping and its freezing again. Last saturday we had heavy snow, thunder lightening and power cuts! Totally bizarre weather although I'm just hoping fdor some snow at christmas as having spent days struggling to work etc I shall feel cheated if its damp, foggy and muddy when I don't have to go out!
