British Horse Society seeks legal advice
The British Horse Society has today instructed Counsel to advise on the efficacy of the Valuation Office Agency’s recent practice of rating private manèges.
If this decision is replicated throughout the United Kingdom, it could mean increased taxes for horse owners at a time when finances are already stretched.
The Society’s Chief Executive, Graham Cory, said: “Given the potentially wide-ranging impact of the Agency’s interpretation of the law, it is important that the efficacy of the Valuation Office Agency’s reasoning is checked out.’
