I have Googled this with no Joy, they are doing this at the farm we are all putting some money in to pay for it! been told it binds the surface ie sand and rubber to stop it freezing, with this weather have not been out due to ice for 2 weeks. I have never heard of this??

According to Wiki:
Calcium magnesium acetate (CMA) is a deicer and can be used as an alternative to road salt. It is approximately as corrosive as normal tap water, and in varying concentrations can be effective in stopping road ice from forming down to around −27.5 °C
