Just been out to do the evening stable chores without snow on the ground for the first time in two weeks, and found that my beautiful Bali has been having a jolly good roll in the mud. Hmm. At least she's been approximately the colour she's meant to be for the last couple of weeks!
She now has a black neck and mane, a black belly, and is black up to her knees on all four legs. I guess if we go out tomorrow I'll just have to pretend that I've borrowed a coloured horse!

I know, mine has been so clean for the last few weeks but came in this afternoon with mud up to his hocks again.

The nicest thing about the snow was beautiful clean feet. Back to digging out packed mud and Blaze's icky hairy legs!

We've had a hard frost again last night and I only managed to clear half the yard in the brief thaw! I'm considering a blow torch/flame thrower but I expect the smell of singed poo and hay might require me wearing a breathing kit! Mta... I'd better stress I am joking btw. The fire risk is too great however 'nice' a visit from burly firemen might be.

God I wish we could have a complete thaw here! Still snow covered, icy, slippy fields here at the moment. Gazdag naked during the day to take advantage of him not being able to get muddy. Still using poo rake as an ice axe to chip the frozen poo off the ground.

Up to eyeballs in mud here in the states. Hate it! Glad to know I am not alone in mud misery... as much as I like the warm weather, frozen rock hard ground is healthier for the ponies!
