From 28th October to 12th November, I shall be running a course in aid of the Moorland Mousie Trust where we shall be working with the young colts brought in at the autumn gathering. The course will be held at the Exmoor Pony Centre, Ashwick, near Dulverton, Exmoor.
Participants will be able to work with the ponies themselves under supervision. Spectators are also welcome. IH members will be asked to donate £25 for the first day and £15 per day thereafter (this is a discounted rate) and may stay for one or more days. Accomodation can be arranged.
This is an excellent opportunity to learn to read pony body language and to help an extremely worthwhile charity to prepare these colts for fostering and re-homing.
For details please contact Laura Goodfellow at the Exmoor Pony Centre on 01398 323185 or email info@exmoorponycentre.org.uk

This sounds absolutely fabulous and just what I have been dreaming of.
I hope to be there, please put my name down: Neal (but not that Neal that was rude to SarahW)
I hope I am not banned and you can shoot me in the forehead if I don't behave impeccably.
I hope I haven't queered my patch, as they say.
Please, pretty please.
I always said you were the best goddam RA the organisation has got.
It is a great opportunity for anyone; well done for the initiative.
Your bestest ever friend Neal (No relation)

Oh Sarah this is a dream come true but unless a miracle happens, preferably in the form of a hefty lotto win I could not make it, blast it

Where are you Sulasmum?
I think this is such a great opportunity that we need to work together.
Maybe in sharing travelling cost or accommodation.
Or maybe some generous, caring horse lover would sponsor some people.
I don't know just throwing stuff into the pot.
The Exmoor is classed as critically endangered and any expertise that is learned; kept alive, is vital.
I for one would love to be involved in helping to secure the future of one of the purest breeds on the planet.
If they dissappear as a breed it will be a huge tragedy.

I am up in Notts Neil, and seriously could not do it financially at present. However I hope one day to be able to adopt or foster a Mousie as they are my favourite natives

Ironically I'm in knots
I can't believe that financial help is not forthcoming
All our native breeds are of vital importance and the Exmoor is arguably the most important.
Can the IHDG come up with a charitable contribution to help those lunatic enought to care?
Are there any rich Uk people who care about indigenous breeds who want to help? (I assume there must be)
I am really concerned that these breeds, the result of thousands of years of breeding will disappear through lack of interest.

It would have been a perfect recipent for our charity money had we raised any we did a Demo for the rare breeds but the apathy from the people never fails to amaze me and we didn't even cover costs so sorry no money this time.

Oh! Highlanderpony2002 (VIP)
That's typical! but that is what makes people like you so important
The same people who are blind to reality will be saddened when their grandchildren look at them mistrustfully and say: 'How could your generation be so careless and ignorant to let this happen.'
Keep up the good work: you are a hero in my eyes
