Hi I've just recently come out of a 2 year share and need to start looking for a descent riding school for lessons.
Does anyone know of a riding school that use the intelligent horsemanship skills to teach their pupils?
I want to avoid yards which have old fashioned equine teaching!
I live in Oxfordshire and don't mind traveling an hour tops if its wort it.
Has anyone got suggestions? :-[

I've always been a patient rider.
I don't want to start riding lessons at a yard where they teach you that the horse will do what you want it to do because your its boss. I hate that! Should be a partnership.
Thats why I became a member of the Intelligent Horsemanship, thinking if I learned from the horses perspective then I might become a better rider and handler.
Fingers crossed!

Have a look into enlightened equitation, One of the teachers might have a yard and school horses near by? Good luck!!

If no luck, ask on the general horse talk board... Gets much more traffic there, so more people to answer!

I did have a look at enlightened equitation on the Internet and there are a few good riding stables. Definitely the type of riding school I'm looking for. They are too far away though. One was 100 miles away! :'(
I'll try the 'general horse talk board' next! Thanks for your help, I'm new to this. kx
