Sadly there is a vendetta over the French Horse pts with the aim of forcing BER to close The original rescuer could not cope with its severe pastern dermatitis and passed it on Second lady tried very hard but could not cure it--paid for horse to be put down but slaughterman sold it. Rescued again and sent to BER Very long and complicated story and this vendetta could be damaging to BER and the 30+ horses who could be left homeless

I can confirm that there is a personal vendetta as Cuffey has already mentioned. The only 2 horses in our care who are thin are 2 TB's who came to us in shocking condition and are gradually gaining weight. I don't need to explain to most knowledgeable people that you cannot go shovelling food down the throats of skinny horses and expect an overnight miracle.
We have been on the receiving end of a really vicious vendetta so I am posting here just to put our side to you and hopefully to allay any fears that we are guilty as charged by a kangaroo court but I'm afraid I won't be getting into debate.
However, for those of you who would care to visit and see for yourselves, please contact myself.

To be honest I looked at the Facebook group and do feel that it was very personal. How sad. I have always thought that an ounce of help is worth a ton of criticism.

Toni had received threats to burn the place down, for vigilantes to stand at the gates, they had stopped her hay supply
All over a French Rescue being pts and a TB which bolted with her and she refused to return knowing it would be put out on contract again and maybe kill someone.
Quite sure she was overstocked but closure is radical, as far as I know she feels she cannot continue under this pressure. Horses will be rehomed by another charity to give them some protection.
(I do not know Toni personally)

Yes Evie has been re-homed with a lovely family in Barnsley. Her old owner was told she had been re-homed locally but has not attempted to ask for any further details. The rumours abounding on another forum about Bank End horses being sold at York sales is completely false.
