Does anyone know of or could reccommend a barefoot qualified trimmer in Norfolk (pony just north of Norwich) he is only 2 never been shod and would like to talk to an experienced trimmer in the area. Farrier looked at his feet said they were fine and would only need a trim every 20 weeks and gave me an old rasp to keep the edges smooth. Got another farrier that could possibly fit me in as was not happy with him only have two trims a year, but would really like to go barefoot if possible so need to speak to someone experienced. Many thanks for reading

They're in Cambridge but DAEPs tend to cover quite a large area. Well worth dropping them an e-mail to see if they have any clients over your way. I'm based on Surrey/Hants borders but have clients in Sussex and Wiltshire!

It really is worth giving some of the DAEPs a call. They often cover large areas and may be able to fit you in with another owner in the area.

I know thats what I thought two trims a year was shocking! Farriers are difficult to get around here at the moment but hopefully got one a friend uses to come and have a look at him asap, he was booked in for 8weeks after his last trim to fit in with other horses on the yard farrier took one look and said he did not need it after the previous trim he had done. Think it had a bit more to do with the farrier not wanting to deal with a youngster as farrier has a bad back and my boy needs patience to get him to let you have one of his hind legs due to a bad experience (he arrived at his last home at 6 months with a large cut in that leg) and can lean in, or wheel the foot around without kicking until he relaxes. He used to be the farrier at his old home. Hopefully I can get him sorted asap have left a message with Tracey and Jackie, Sams website not working. Hopefully I will hear back from them soon if not talking to freinds farrier tomorrow night pulling in some favours so at least he can have a pasture trim.

Ooh a bit late lol but luckily for the hoof geeks he only got his fronts done as he had enough after that and we need to work on him letting people get near his hinds before I would ask a trimmer to go there! Can do before and after backs will just have to remember

Pic of fronts after trim and backs before trim, could not get get sole of hoof pictures on my own without risking another head kicking at this point I can manage hoof in hands nicely without bum biting and a fair bit more but hoof in hands whilst holding camera trying to make sure he does not bite my bum is a bit beyond at the moment! Fronts Backs trimmer scored his fronts7/10 couple of growth rings and were long in the toe pre trim. I have three weeks to work with him before the backs are trimmed so hopefully it will be a more pleasant experience for all.

Hi coley
I'm also in Norfolk and looking for a barefoot trimmer. Tried the names joandlad suggested and the website, but no luck. Did you find a Norfolk trimmer and if you were happy, could you pass on his/her name please?
Thanks
