Trimming Tutorial 26th June 2006
We are very excited to announce that farrier Pete Ramey has agreed to deliver his two day Hoof Care clinic in Yorkshire next summer. Pete is one of the most experienced natural hoof care practitioners in the world. He is an Instructor for the American Association of Natural Hoof Care Practitioners and author of Making Natural Hoof Care Work for You. Pete’s clinics are designed to provide a high level of hoof rehabilitation knowledge and understanding in an easy-going style that everyone can understand.
Topics include:
Going from shoes to barefoot
Building a gravel crunching tough hoof
From lameness to soundness with natural hoof care
How to do a natural trim step by step
Choosing the right hoof boot for riding
Implementing natural horse keeping practices
The Hoof Care Clinic is taking place on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th June and the Tutorial on Monday 26th June 2006. It will be at Foxberry Chasers, Caldwell, Nr Richmond, North Yorkshire, it is close to the A1 and Scotch Corner. The first two days are Pete’s renowned Hoof Care Clinic; day three is for anyone who would like to have a trimming lesson from Pete or have Pete trim their horse. Auditors are also welcome on day three.
Two Day Hoof Care Clinic
The theme of this clinic is “Growing a Healthier Hoof.” Farriers, vets, and horse owners alike rave about the information shared in this clinic and the “crystal clear” common sense way Pete teaches people. Every theory and method is tried by fire, with idealism taking a back seat to “here’s what works in the real world.” Pete can show you how to promote amazing healing of your horses’ hooves while avoiding the soreness sometimes associated with barefoot transition. The full clinic schedule can be viewed at www.hoofrehab.com/clinic_outline.htm.
Day Three – Trimming Tutorial
Day three is about giving you some hands on experience under Pete’s watchful eye.
Tips and/or advice on methodology or technique will be given. If you prefer Pete will trim your horse for you and give advice on future horse and hoof care.
Auditor places are also available; you will learn lots watching and listening on the day.
Please note that anyone wishing to attend day 3 must also have attended days 1 & 2.
We highly recommend that clinic participants read Pete’s book* prior to attending the clinic. This frees Pete up to take the clinic to a higher level and increases the learning opportunity. *(Making Natural Hoof Care Work for You, available from
