Meet Freddie, who doesn't think much of the rain!
I think it had more to do with being separated from his chum Flora actually, but hey
Freddie is a different chap entirely to Flora. He is still entire, but is very immature for his 8 months and is much more nervous but less self contained. He needs constant reassurance and is an absolute poppet
He responded so well to the advance and retreat that very soon he was standing for the hand on a cane, and was very curious about the hand that held it
Because he was going to be slightly easier than Flora, I decided it would be nice for his owner if she was the one to do the gentling work with him.
This was the first time he stepped towards his owner when she had stood aside to give him a brake
Wearing head collar Mark 1
"Oooooo, this thinking is hard work!!"
Headcollars Mark 2 and 3 (we needed to be sure he was going to be happy to have one put on and taken off before I left, and also had to get the perfect fit)
Interestingly, he, too was happier to have the headcollar just popped over his nose as well, and he didn't need the rope around his neck to steady him before the headcollaring.
Both ponies had lots of breaks so they didn't get too tired, so whilst Flora had her breaks we worked with Freddie and vice-versa.
Thanks again to Kafee for the photos ;D
