RIP Mandy. PTS this afternoon with some field mates for company. Lovely old lady who had unfortunatly lost condition, and had struck a second episode of not being able to get up. The first time she was due to be PTS she jumped up and wandered out of her stable of her own accord and suprised us all. But unfortunatly it wasnt to last and several months down the line the right time came. Bye bye Mandy

:-( in my sillyness off blubbing i expect i missed out that she was infact my YO's girl, but the oldies always have a soft spot in my heart. In fact they all do, whether young or old. The amount of times i ran flat out across the fields to her lay out on the floor because i thought the worst, and everytime she was ok, apart from today :-( We stopped the car on the way to uni as could see her flat out, my sister climbed the fence and went to see her and she couldnt get up. YO had been out an got some hay bales to help prop her up, so we knew YO knew. so she gave her a stroke and said goodbye. On the way back from uni she was still in the same spot, so i knew it wasnt good :-( Got into the yard to feed Toffee and got told she was PTS a little while after my sister had been to see her. We were the ones that found her after the first time, when she had suddenly got up and gone for a wander, it was like a miracle, YO didnt know whether to laugh or cry. Such a shame she couldnt make it to the warmer weather, she always did better in the summer. Makes you worry about ur own oldies :-(

she was in her late 20's i think. but she was retired at 16 due to ring bone and had bad arthritis. Does make me worry as Toffee is about 34/35, but Mandy was a very old looking horse for her age, bless her
