Hi everyone I am arranging a 3 day barefoot trimming clinic by Dan Guerrea on May 12 - 14th in Cheltenham, Glos. Dan trained in the USA as a farrier and now specialises in natural barefoot trimming (although he is not against putting a shoe on a horse if it is needed) His love for horses is clear to see and the work he does is fantastic. Please note that his method of trimming is just natural trimming, it is not the style that we hear so many horror stories about!!! He also offers a trimming service separate from the course, but his emphasis is very much on empowering the owner with enough knowledge to do basic work themselves. I took my 23 year old's shoes off in October last year, and it was one of the best decisions i have made. I learnt more about horses hooves in Dan's first visit than i ever learnt from the countless farrier visits i had. For further info on Dan, his methods and his clinics go to www.barehoof.com. He is always more than happy to answer any questions you may have and his email address is on his website. If you are interested in attending or just finding out more about the clinic, please email me at jenny.curtis@blueyonder.co.uk

Hi Toni
It is up to you whether you bring your horse or not, the cost is the same regardless. (£300)
Alot of the the work is carried out on dead legs to start with, and then if you have brought your own horse, dan can help you work with yours towards the end.
He is also happy to look at any remedial issues you may have with your horse during the clinic. (behavioural or physical).
His trimming service depends onwhat needs doing, if it is just a standard trim, he charges £50, if there is more remedial work needs doing, ie White line disease etc, then he charges more, but you can always email him photos beforehand to get a rough idea.
I don;t know where you are in the country, He is based in chichester so depending where you are may affect his ability to get to see you to do just one horse. He comes to us in cheltenham as he sees quite a few horses whilst he is here so it covers his travel costs.
I hope this helps, please feel free to email myself or dan, or reply to this post if you have any further questions.
