As always, a busy month! Exciting of course, because of being on tour with Monty Roberts and Kelly Marks, travelling throughout the UK to work with local horses with issues. There is always so much to be learned and inwardly digested, and Monty's instant recognition of what is most likely to be causing the issue continues to impress. Audiences enjoyed not only Monty working with a starter and a 'problem loader' at each demo, but also another 'horse with an issue' (the issue varied from venue to venue and included ridden and groundwork issues), and the chance to watch Monty and Kelly riding. Rosie Jones was Monty's first ever female tour rider, and did an exceptionally good job, staying calm yet effective and working in synchrony with Monty at all times. She was also lucky enough to be riding Kelly's new 'project horse' Harvey, who demonstrated an incredible learning curve through the month - his 'section' of the demo was particularly special to me as 'his music' was Bryan Adams 'Here I Am', which was the song that Simon and I had our first dance to at our wedding last September. It's fascinating to me how music can help make memories so powerful!
So we had our last tour date on Friday, and now it's time (from an IH point of view) to look forward to Kelly's May Masterclass! But before then there's plenty to be done - Simon's 'Equine Photographic Clinics' which will be running for the first time this year are generating a lot of interest so there's lots of planning and preparation to be able to present those at our usual high standard. The Horse Owners Massage Course is going to be really big this year, and I will be promoting in some of the National equestrian magazines (you may have seen that I had 2 articles in the latest edition of Horse Magazine), I'm very excited about where that might lead! We've been asked to take part in a conference in Ireland hosted by Maria Wood of Courting The Horse, and I'm especially looking forward to going to some of the County Shows with Simon's Into The Lens stand selling fine art photographic prints - he's been out getting some amazing wildlife pictures! The Holistic Horse Help newsletter is proving very popular, with nearly 2000 subscribers, last month's special offer of a half price schoolmaster lesson with Grand Prix dressage rider Leonie Smith was an astounding success and she is fully booked for the moment! Look out for this month's special offer for a Western Experience Day at the Mendip Stud, amongst other useful information and great deals!
Well, that's enough for now - I've got a few days off to begin March with some relaxation, so I'll be back in a week or so!
