Seconded for KathyN - we have not missed a single horsey coffee morning for 2 years now - not to mention the organisation of the Annual HCM Boot Camp! Without her and Snappa's famous toasties we'd never have got to where we are today!
By the way Debbie - why are you not tucked up in your bed at this late time of night?! ;D

many thanks for the nomination BUT I am no longer able to divert the surrender dogs to find them homes, as it would appear that on a technicality I have been misapropriating council property, and have been stopped from doing it. So. Now they have to go to the kennels and take their chances with the strays, which for older terriers, nervous dogs, stressed Border Collies like Misty etc... who either sulk at the back of kennels or pace up and down barking it is not easy.... Although, I suppose if the council got an award for letting us do it, they may change their tune. So. I nominate my Local Authority ERU for their previously positive work with surrender Dogs.... please vote for BMBC

I second any award to Mandal who goes above and beyond to help all things ' Hoof ' !!
Jackie Taylor is a god send for all of us bobbing along with metabolic problem horses.
Can we also recognise the resident ladies who Horsewatch and keep us up to date with all things Security ... i believe thats RJ / Storm / Susan ?? Correct me if i'm wrong.
Then the Weightwatching ladies ( couldn't think of another way to put that ) but Susan and Co who help us with the points scoring and weight advice for our horses.
I have loads of others but better let a few other nominations go first !!

K8 -IH Hostess with the mostest ! (for hosting all of us East Anglian peeps time after time for coffee mornings) I think Kathy N is a serious contender for that one - hosting an HCM every month - we'll be celebrating 2 years in April! I second that! And also an award for Grammar Granny - or maybe just "Gramma" for Catrin, she's even more meticulous than I am when it comes to grammar & spelling - and she can do sums as well!

Oh a local basis June (and her OH) has been providing the facilities for us to have clinics for the last few years now - she has single handedly raised the quality of riding and caring for our horses! What a wonderful way to thank her publicly - and of course for the food - and Susan for the behind the scenes organisation!
Thank you everyone else who posts - if we didn't post there would be no DG!

Def second (or 3rd) for June, for many reasons, all of them very very worthwhile, but no wish to embarrass her.......... much ;-) Not sure how many people on the DG have reason to be grateful for the use of facilities for courses and clinics, the calm friendly advice, and the help so generously provided.

How about a special "Spud and Coleslaw" award for June? urrrrrrrrrrrrrrrm big sad face as it is usually me who does most the food... spuds you like..coleslaw..and other things at Junes... not that I am after any award.. I simply do it to save June hassle and organising so she gets a chance to sit and enjoy the clinics.. that she sets up and allows to be run at her place, so many of us get so many more opportunities.. So June is up for! for her clinics, hospitality, and good all round support and caring so quietly in the back ground!

Susan Question mark? what after all the hassle I give folks.. and even upset..and all because I dont want them or their horses to be victims.. I am a question mark.. I might not have been on much the last few weeks.. but am I forgotten so easily.. again n ot after any award..simply miffed.. Yes Horsewatch tends to be RJ and myself ..mainly and Storm of late.. tireless campaiging as well.. when you feel more ofteh then not.. you are banging your head on brick wall with so many horse owners who refuse to help themselves.. spend more time telling you why it is a waste of time or why it wont work or why they wont get targetted..you o wish why you bothered. But hey name of the game.. Still we do it and when we get replies saying I did this or that on advice,., the feeling of helping is mega! award enough for me.. I agreed ref Jackie.. she has been the saviour of so many horses and sanity of owners.. Me on weight watchers..well I did get on one of my bandwagons again why..to educate owners to save their horses.. no other reason.. and lets face it dont the slimmies ! look so much better.. need to listen to the advice for horses..now for me

Kelly..another Dg I wont name names have a annual award meeting... and it goes down a storm.. so as a suggestion if you do your annual barbi..which sadly so far June and us lot donw here have missed as clashed on dates.. could well be the place and time to include it..
I again put up JUNE!!!! award for so many reasons.. the clinics for one. always willing to have them..
I also put up RJ for HW ( Horse Watch) because without her 15 years going on 16 years..and the one to start it all those years ago in the UK!!! .. I would not have been so involved armed with the facts she has presented .. and can continue that fight..helping her.. and continuing all she started..
Mandal for being MANDAL ! and her support always on here..

Ooh no Susan 'I also put up RJ for HW ( Horse Watch) because without her 15 years going on 16 years..and the one to start it all those years ago in the UK!!! ' I was there just after the fantastic Sue Evans and friends started it all, and I got Bedfordshire Horsewatch going, and it was 1993 I think, gulp. However I have done bu$$er all of late, so feeling very guilty :-(
But of course us DG'ers are all very special, though some more, erm, special than others, maybe ?!?!

I'd like to nominate Trouble's Snip as DG horse of the year for being such a good teacher to so many of us. (Ok, he's not technically a DGer, but DGer by proxy)
