Bit of advertising here but I hope you can forgive me
Rather than hunting for boots that might give you some grip, these are WELL worth an invest. I ordered a pair of these on the 5th, they said they were out of stock until the 7th, got an email on the 7th to say they'd processed the order and they turned up today
well impressed with that as the field and track spiked shoes I've been using gave up the ghost after 15 miles walking in them lol poor things
anyway, these are the ones I got, I walked to the shops and back in them tonight and they are fab. they go over shoes/boots really easily and are easy to slip on and off. A kind DGer pointed me in their direction after I saw someone on a bus with them on

I think QVC do them cheaper but they were out of stock, I was really impressed with how quickly they arrived and if you want any you might be lucky and get some in for this cold spell.
well worth the money, very impressed indeed, a must for this weather if you ask me given how much we have to be out and about in it.

mta , as pointed out by kindly DGer, they do indeed come up quick small if you wear big chunky boots, if you are a 7 or above I'd go for the large/x-large version
