Hidalgo .... Viggo Morgensen (sp?) ; Omar Sharif ; and 100's of horses, My sort of film! Good story too. The Black Stallion : fairly rubbish story but stunning photography in the part where horse and boy are on the island.
I like Seabiscuit and Black Beauty, Champoins is OK, I've only seen The Electric Horseman once many years ago, but Robert Redford is always good.
Absolute least favourite:- Spirit, Stallion of the Cimmaron. Bad animation, have the horse doing things that would be physically impossible for a horse and silly story.

I've just realised I also have Shergar on DVD - very Hollywood, but a nice enough horsey flick for a wet Sunday afternoon!

Champoins is OK, I've only seen The Electric Horseman once many years ago, but Robert Redford is always good. I bought the soundtrack to Champions - utterly love the scene at the end of the Grand National.... The Electric Horseman's quite good - I bought it on a whim and thoroughly enjoyed it. The 1970s setting is VERY dated now, though!

King of the Wind is my favourite but I do like Hidalgo and the others I enjoy any horsey film to be honest and lots of other family films.

Hidalgo but thats probably as much for Viggo Mortenson as for the gorgeous Horses. My absolute favourite film is 'Dances with Wolves'. I know its not strictly horses but - Horses, Wolves, Indians and Kevin Costner together with great music - what more could you want!

One of my favourite horsey scenes is in a fantasy film called Krull. There are horses all the way through the film, but there's a particular type of horse, called fire mares, that the heroes need to carry them to their destination. www.youtube.com/watch?v=P5G4puptHvoCan anyone guess what plays them?! (And no, you're not seeing things, that's a VERY young Liam Neeson in the film!)
