I am sure these ponies are here to try us.. firstly I got my friend's pony in, she came out of the field lame, trotted her to the yard and after a couple of strides she improved. Picked out her feet and trotted her up again with another friend watching - no problems phew! Then as Shadow came trotting to the gate I spotted blood, once back on the yard and some food to settle him (I am obviously starving him!) he let me look. He has caught the side of his face on something sharp, from 2mm from his lower eyelid down by 2.5cm and another scratch lower down on his cheek.. I don't want to know what would have happened if it had been higher up, it is an open wound but hopefully if it heals quickly then no stitch will be needed. Now keeping it clean on a muddy pony is a different matter! My family and animals are jinxed on Bank Holidays.

Lucky it wasn't any higher up, not worth thinking about.
Hopefully it will heal up quickly
